Journalist Abduction: NY Times Shows Restraint, When It’s One of Their Own…

It’s nice to see that the NY Times actually listens to the experts occasionally. Granted, it’s only when one of their own journalists is abducted by the Taliban. I wonder how they would’ve handled this story if it was a civilian contractor while GWB was in office?

Would they have not published the story out of concern for the hostage? I seem to recall other stories by the NY Times showing no such restraint.

Regardless, glad to hear that Mr. Rohde was able to escape and is safe. And glad to hear the “paper of record” could see the wisdom in ensuring his safety, even if it meant holding back on the news…
