North Korea to Boycott Talks, Restart Weapons Plant (Washington Post)

Article

Fuming at the U.N. Security Council for condemning its recent missile launch, North Korea said Tuesday it will restart its plutonium factory, junk all its disarmament agreements and “never participate” again in six-country nuclear negotiations.

In response, the White House called on North Korea Tuesday to “cease its provocative threats” and honor its commitments.

That’ll do it.

Comment: Where’s Lucy Liu’s Sister? or Is She a US Spy?

Just wondering where the two journalists “captured” (or kidnapped) by North Korea are or when they will be released?

We haven’t heard Anything at all about this since it occurred.

Hm. And here’s the article in …. “People”???

The House Upon a Rock: Obama & Jesus?

So Redstate.com has an interesting comment Posted by Erick Erickson about Pres. Obama’s economic speech called “The House Upon a Rock.” Pres. Obama cites the end of the sermon on the mount. Just one problem:

That “rock” Christ was talking about is Himself. In fact, while the King James Version of the Bible uses the phrase “a rock”, a more accurate rendering, which other versions of the Bible get right is “the rock.”…

The “rock” is Christ and the Word. The “sand” is this reality — the one where Barack Obama is the secular messiah.

Vatican Ambassador: Empty Post, All Pro-Abortion Candidates?

In case you are also is wondering why Pres. Obama can’t find a pro-life candidate for ambassador to the Vatican…

It does seem incredible. The most intelligent person in the world can’t seem to find a candidate for ambassador to the Vatican? All three candidates Pres. Obama has floated so far are pro-abortion.

As a Catholic, I have to think that Pres Obama has real disdain for my faith based on his actions. He clearly has no respect for the Church, the Vatican or the Pope. Hope all those Catholics who voted for President Obama pay attention to this. But if they did, they wouldn’t have been able to vote for Obama in the first place.

Catholic Bishop: No Ambiguity, Church is Against Abortion

Article

Let us not be misled by the public statements and positions of pro-abortion politicians who identify themselves as Catholics.

Some of them erroneously suggest that Church teaching on abortion is open for debate. Wrong. The Catholic Church has taught consistently and clearly that procured abortion is gravely contrary to the moral law.

From the moment of conception we are in the presence of a human being. That is when respect for the dignity of the human person begins, as well as protection of the rights to those things needed to live in dignity. The right to life is the most basic and fundamental human right and the condition for all other personal rights.

You may also hear pro-abortion Catholic politicians cite in their defense the Church’s teaching on freedom of conscience. But can you imagine the Church safeguarding the right of its members to dissent from truth or from moral goodness, especially concerning the sanctity of human life?

Thank you Bishop Jackels

Gov of Texas: Protect US from the Federal Gov’t! 10th Amendment

Refreshing Video
The Governor of Texas takes a stand.

“I believe that our federal government has become oppressive in its size, its intrusion into the lives of our citizens, and its interference with the affairs of our state,” Gov. Perry said. “That is why I am here today to express my unwavering support for efforts all across our country to reaffirm the states’ rights affirmed by the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. I believe that returning to the letter and spirit of the U.S. Constitution and its essential 10th Amendment will free our state from undue regulations, and ultimately strengthen our Union.”

From Drudgereport.com:
A number of recent federal proposals are not within the scope of the federal government’s constitutionally designated powers and impede the states’ right to govern themselves. HCR 50 affirms that Texas claims sovereignty under the 10th Amendment over all powers not otherwise granted to the federal government.

It also designates that all compulsory federal legislation that requires states to comply under threat of civil or criminal penalties, or that requires states to pass legislation or lose federal funding, be prohibited or repealed.

Right Wing Radicals: More Dangerous Than Islamic Extremists?

The Department of Homeland Security is warning that “groups that reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority “ are to be carefully watched. DHS warns:

“It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single-issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration,”

So anti-abortion activists and those with Pro-Life bumper stickers are to be considered potential militia?

Interesting. We cannot profile Arab Muslim men between certain ages (remember white haired citizens in wheel chairs going thru vigorous screening at airports?) but we should look out for those crazy anti-abortion, anti-illegal immigration folks (bet they have guns!)

Local police departments and the federal gov’t are now watching YOU!
