Bravo! Prof. Mary Ann Glendon – “No” to Notre Dame

Invited to speak as the recipient of the Laetare Medal, Prof. Glendon, former ambassador to the Vatican & feminist pro-life Harvard Professor, soon saw that Fr. Jenkins also hoped that her presence and speech would “balance out” the graduation now dominated by the most pro-abortion politician, President Obama.

Prof. Glendon was placed in an unsavory position. As it turned out, Prof. Glendon felt she had to refuse the Laetare Medal and not participate in the graduation.

Obama’s Bi-Partisanship: “I Won.” & Bush Did It. Change We Can Believe In?

First President Obama invited Republicans to dinner, then to the Super Bowl Party at the White House, then he told them “I Won” when it came time to discuss the largest spending package ever put to Congress.

Now Pres. Obama is looking to go around a potential filibuster for his proposed Nationalization of Health Care by allowing the proposal to be treated as a budget resolution. The Republicans are outraged, rightly, as where the Democrats when Bush did the same for tax laws. What is Obama’s excuse? Bush did it. I thought Obama was the anti-Bush?

Is this the change we can believe it?

Update: Now $14.1 Million, Notre Dame Loses Roughly $8,200,000 Over Obama

Bequests have been removed from wills, donations withheld over Pres. Obama being honored and offering this year’s commencement address. $8,200,000 is the conservative effort of what it has cost Notre Dame – in monetary terms. How many more children will not be applying or attending Notre Dame in the future if this issue is not addressed.

The issue isn’t just the most pro-abortion President being honored with a degree, it is that the Catholic University places it’s secular academic identity above it’s Catholic identity.

$8.2 million was the total after just one week…ReplaceJenkins.com

Party Time: Good Riddance to Liberal Specter

Finally! Sen. Arlen Specter has made it official. He is no longer Sen Spector (R-PA), he is now Sen. Spector (D-PA). We conservatives are thrilled about the change. Those of Specter’s ilk have been drowning the party in mediocre, unprincipled politics. Seeing the writing on the wall, Spector finally decided it was time to make the move.

So what was the impetus? After all, Sen. Specter just re-affirmed his commitment to the Republican party on March 17th. (Article) Only a month later it seems everything has changed, chiefly:

Specter’s re-election campaign was in serious jeopardy. Republican Toomey was gearing up to oppose Specter in the Pennsylvania Republican primary. Not to mention that Specter wasn’t getting much support from voters in PA angry about his support of Obama’s stimulus package.

Specter faced an extraordinarily difficult re-election challenge in his home state in 2010, having first to confront a challenge from his right in the Republican primary before pivoting to a general election campaign against a Democrat.

“I am unwilling to have my twenty-nine year Senate record judged by the Pennsylvania Republican primary electorate,” he said in the statement.

Perhaps he was waiting for accolades for standing up against Card Check? He is really acting in self-interest. He is preserving his power and not responding to his constituents.

100 Day Poll: Which to Believe?

The main stream media isn’t really reporting the Gallup Poll results, 56% approval for Obama at 100 days, but are touting the CBS/NY Times survey that have Obama’s approval at 68%.

Hm. That is a large gap: 12% points. Which one to believe?
